I have been through a couple Keurig style duo coffee makers and both have been complicated to use and ultimately failed. Then I got the Keurig K-Duo Essentials and it is a revelation. Large water reservoir that is easy to fill, simple procedure for making a pot or a cup. The only downside is that sliding the plastic brew basket into position is a bit difficult. Otherwise, this is a coffee maker that is a delight to use. I highly recommend it.I really loved this coffee maker. Was excited to own a Keurig. The advantage of making a single cup throughout the day. Less than 10 months of owning this, hot water pours out the side of the basket and floods my countertop. I cleaned it. Still leaking. Twelve cup selection makes about 10 cups. I have been put packaging tape on the side. This helps half the time. Very disappointed.Great productThis lil baby replaced 2 old machines and takes up half the space. The single reservoir lets you go from a single cup for dessert or a quick/easy commute and the carafe for a leisurely morning at home or a really rough start on a whim. It's quieter than my old Keurig, compact, and I use it pretty much every day with no complaintsExcellent love my coffeeThis machine worth the money I have always use a single cup but I bought this for my Daylilly club they 35 members and they will enjoy having a choice thanksbought a 2nd one for friendNice pot - easy to use but the carafe leaks when pouring out the coffeeWas happy to see it fit the pod holder we already had.Still trying it out but so far so goodPicture shows travel mug with base plate removed.Edit..took away a star because after using it, i found the back tank a little annoying. Hard to access if it's on the counter. I moved it closer to the sink and am using the pull out tap.2nd edit... I bought an 18 inch lazy susan turntable (here on Amazon) and put the machine and cabinet on top of it. I moved it back to where I wanted it and now I just turn it around to fill it. Much better!UPDATE: Having bought both models and returning the K-Duo Essentials, I have added to my review for comparison of the K-Duo vs. the K-Duo Essentials. Since writing this, the single serve side spits all over the counter top and the coffee carafe drips down the side of the pot every time you pour. Probably going to return it for this design flaw and malfunction.K-Duo:The K-Duo model is worth the approx. $60 difference in price over the K-Duo Essentials. For starters, the K-Duo looks more sleek, with the addition of stainless trim, digital clock, and illuminated buttons. Next, the brew basket is more easily accessible without having to remove the entire drawer to get to it. The plastic used has a smoother matte finish; it feels and looks more durable, although all accessories still must be hand washed as there are no dishwasher compatible accessories. The water reservoir is of a better more rectangular shape which easier to manage for washing. Single serve brewing offers a special "bold" button to brew a bolder cup of coffee. Carafe brewing offers the option to schedule brew time for automatic brewing. The coffee carafe has a squared-edge spout to better eliminate drip when pouring. The K-Duo runs far more quiet than the K-Duo Essentials; both heat-up and brewing sounds are whisper quiet by comparison. K-Duo single-serve and carafe brewing can be set to as little as 6 oz. and 6 cups respectively, which can come in handy if wanting to brew a smaller carafe, or for making a stronger single-serve brew for specialty drinks (cappuccino, mocha, etc.); the K-Duo Essentials only offered a minimum of 8 oz and 8 cups. Overall, the K-Duo is well worth it in my opinion and if you can get one on an Amazon Warehouse deal you will save some money over the new list price.K-Duo Essentials:One star removed from "easy to use" because water reservoir is on the backside and is awkward to fill. Really like the design and construction of this machine over it's less expensive competitor, the HB FlexBrew. Unfortunately, and following all owner's manual instructions, the carafe side was brewing one more cup than that selected (9 cups instead of 8, and so on). I am returning this unit and will try the upgraded model, "K-Duo" instead of "K-Duo Essentials".I just received my second Keurig KDuo,I had to send the first one back due to none function. With this new one, I can get the single cup brewer to work but not the carafe side, the light just stays red and nothing happens, any suggestions?Item has already been opened...hopefully not used too! Bought this as a Christmas gift for a family member, but it arrived with the box’s seal broken and then taped back up. I can’t gift this! Will need to return :(Excellent product. Single serve or a pot of if you have many guests over. Wish it had one more single brew size option. The single serve part doesn't flip forward like the others. It's stationary when you open the lid. As you may see in the picture I added. It's fast, shuts off on it's own, you can pull the pot out and pour a cup while it's brewing. And it doesn't have that silly sensor thing like that one unit they came out with. What can I say, buy it. No regrets here. ?
